I am the very model of a modern major
It's time to talk majors!!! Everyone, contribute with your own personal discussions on your potential majors, and your strong opinions on others' majors (e.g. michael- you are soooo an economics major).
For me, I've narrowed it down to a few possibilities:
Urban Studies- cool stuff, multidisciplinary, so most classes come from various other departments.
Pros: multidisciplinary
Cons: more-than-average required courses, though most are from other departments
Political Science- cool stuff, which i find really interesting and engaging.
Pros: I find it interesting and it's theoretically useful in life, should I desire to become a congressional staffer (*makes puking motion... the senate is where the real action is*)
Cons: mucho reading, not very sexy
Math- I enjoy it, now at least.
Pros: I enjoy the work, there's not very much reading, I've already taken a bunch of classes.
Cons: It's going to get more difficult soon, it's not particularly interesting (though it's fun), and as for practical uses? I hear actuaries are total chick magnets.
Film-
Pros: FUN. Interesting. Less reading.
Cons: Come on. It's film. That's... not liberal artsy enough. Also, requires me to take two classes next year that I'm not expecting to take.
Economics-
Pros: Useful, interesting
Cons: I haven't actually taken an economics class yet
So there I am. I'm leaning Urban Studies right now, maybe double major in Math. Certainly I'll minor in Math as it requires very few classes (only two more).
Also- Michael- as long as you're in Gallitan and designing your own major: economics in musical theater.

come on political science is sexy.
and economics is pretty stupid, so dont go there.
I could see you being an urbanist and/or city planner. So, thats where my vote lies.
Hey, we should vote on the major Bernie picks and Bernie has to abide by it. I vote Women's Studies in the spirit of Meredith.
Well if we are going to pcik randomly I would pick womens studies with a concentration of under-water basket weaving and Photography.
Did I say Photography? -- I ment Pornography!
